Practice guidelines are the practical application of the policy. They outline
preferred or best practices in staffing in order to help you make a decision or
take an action that best meets your business needs.
The practice guidelines accompany most of the topics in the Manager’s HR
Toolkit, but are broader and more in-depth. You will use them when you want to
learn more about the range of options available to you at a particular step of a
staffing action, and to get more in-depth background information on particular
topics.
These are “live” documents that that will be changed and updated as we
learn more about new ways of staffing. We look forward to incorporating
suggestions and recommendations from users – so please use the “feedback”
feature, found on most pages of this toolkit, to pass along your comments.
